Dex Giese

Hi! I’m Dex Giese, a mixed media stop motion animator studying in Vancouver, BC. I graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design with a degree in 2D + Experimental Animation. My work centers around exploring the relationship between imagery + emotion, and I intend to fill my work with as much energy as possible.

EFPN is the final project for Martin Rose’s Experimental Animation class. We were given a month to create a short experimental “deeper dive” to an animation style that we were interested in - I chose live action hand puppets. The fish were 3D printed, and I hand airbrushed them and digitally composited them in the scene.  The set was built using paper mache and various scrap materials.
